Mediation
Separating couples need to know that they can retain collaborative
lawyers or attend mediation.
Collaboration and mediation are dispute
resolution processes that do not rely on the litigation model.
Mediation
is a process that allows separating couples to meet, and with the assistance
of the mediator, to achieve resolutions on the many issues that must
be addressed including parenting plans, property divisions, pensions,
maintenance and support.
Mediation is a process that is also available
to the couple following a divorce or when issues arise relating to
ongoing support or affecting children. Nancy will act as a neutral
third party and facilitate direct and respectful communication between
the couple.
Nancy is qualified to mediate family matters and she received
her training in May 1993 through the Continuing Legal Education Society
of B.C. Nancy believes that most families and couples can successfully
resolve their issues such as property division, pensions, parenting
plans, maintenance and support in a manner that is respectful and cost
effective.
